A two-day conference has a main stage and then it has the panel room, the breakout, the second track running at the same time as the first. You can put a camera operator on the keynote. You cannot put one in every room, and the rooms you cannot staff are exactly the sessions that end up either unrecorded or filmed by accident, a phone propped on a stack of books, the speaker drifting out of frame for forty minutes.
The AI Director camera is built for that room. It is designed to run from an iPhone on a stand: set the phone at the back, point it at the stage, and the session frames and follows the speaker on its own. It holds the shot, reframes when the speaker moves from the lectern to the panel table, and keeps the picture steady, so the breakout you could not crew records itself looking produced rather than abandoned.
Predictive pan, tilt, and zoom, done in software
What a camera operator does with a tripod head, hold the subject, anticipate the move, ease into a reframe, the AI Director does in software. The predictive virtual pan-tilt-zoom watches the frame and moves the crop the way a human operator would, ahead of the motion rather than chasing it, so the reframe lands smooth instead of jerking after the speaker has already crossed the stage.
The word predictive is the point. A reactive crop always looks like it is catching up. This one is built to read where the speaker is going, the lean toward the lectern, the turn to the panel, and to be there when they arrive. The shot reads as directed because the framing decisions are made the way a director makes them, a beat early.
One phone, one less vendor
This is the part that matters for a bar section or a firm running its own workshop. The standard answer to “we need every session on camera” is a production company on retainer, an operator per room, a budget the event does not have. The capture and the distribution are one continuous line of work on one machine, so the keynote you framed automatically in the back of the room does not die on the phone’s camera roll.
